To support the Africa Centre’s $50m capital campaign, Aliko Dangote Foundation has committed to a $20m donation to advance the centre’s activities and support ongoing operations The donation was announced at the recently Africa Centre’s yearly signature policy and business event, the Future Africa Forum. In recognition of the donation, the Centre renamed its venue “The Africa Centre at Aliko Dangote Hall.”
The event, which featured a fireside with Aliko Dangote, Mo Ibrahim and Bll Gates, also saw a donation of $5m to the Centre by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Over the years, Aliko Dangote Foundation has led in various initiatives around the African continent. Early this year, in collaboration with GBCHealth, the Foundation launched the African Business Coalition for Health, a private sector coalition committed to transforming health outcomes on the continent.
