Across the African continent, we are witnessing a transition toward bold innovation, local ownership, and integrated action in solving some of our most pressing health challenges. The future of Africa’s health is no longer a conversation of need, but one of opportunity: opportunity to reimagine systems, to scale homegrown technologies, and to drive impact through
transformative partnerships. This is the context in which we must place our work. Not as an isolated disease response, but as a decisive part of building resilient health systems, thriving economies, and empowered communities. The fight against malaria, therefore, is a litmus test of how effectively we can galvanize multi-sectoral leadership, scientific innovation, and sustainable financing to protect the most vulnerable and unlock prosperity. We are no longer starting from scratch. Across boardrooms and labs, ministries and grassroots, the momentum is real. From next-generation vector control to AIpowered surveillance systems, Africa’s response to malaria is evolving beyond convention, and at CAMA and ABCHealth, we are proud to be at the forefront of that evolution.
As we look to best-in-class examples, Egypt’s formal certification by the World Health Organization for the elimination of human malaria transmission offers a blueprint rooted in robust vector surveillance, community engagement, and health system integration. Such successes must be studied, contextualized, and adapted to fit Africa’s high-burden geographies.
