Greetings and welcome to another edition of our News update. I would like to start by deeply appreciating the members and partners of our Coalition for their unwavering commitment in the joint work to reduce disease burden and improve health outcomes in Africa; a commitment we take very seriously as custodians of the Coalition’s Resources for Health development efforts and interventions, more so at this crucial time when ABCHealth becomes the new Office for the Corporate Alliance on Malaria in Africa (CAMA), marking a another great mileage in our journey towards mobilizing private sector resources to enhance health systems across the continent.
As the second fastest-growing economic region in the world (after Asia) at 4 per cent, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), our challenges still persist from new conflicts, forceful regime changes, slow post-COVID-19 recovery realities, increased food insecurity, political instability and weak global growth not to mention the deepening Israel–Gaza conflict and the lingering Russia–Ukraine war inclusively contributing to stifling better growth across the continent
