As we come to the end of 2025, I want to take a moment to acknowledge how far we have come and to appreciate the unwavering commitment of our Coalition’s members, partners, and stakeholders in advancing the health landscape across Africa. The journey so far has been both encouraging and inspiring, marked by a collective resolve to embrace innovation, adapt to change, and improve lives across the continent.

The last part of the year has seen remarkable advancements, particularly in the digital health space. Africa is proving that the future of healthcare is now—and it is digital. It is heartwarming that our continent is not lagging behind as our digital health market, currently estimated at $5.58 billion, continues to grow at a steady 7.9% annual rate, pointing to a continent ready to scale its innovations
and unlock real impact.

Importantly, investors are showing growing appetite in Africa’s ehealth market which is valued at USD11b as healthtech startups across the continent continue to thrive, attracting $550 million in funding over the past three years, even as overall tech investments in Africa dropped by 39%. According to TechInAfrica, this growth is fueled by online pharmacies, telemedicine, and AIdriven diagnostics, with women-led startups securing 31% of funding last year.
